Kay Scorah on letting everything in and being open.
Alive 06: Open
I open the windows in my central London flat – I’m letting everything in. The birdsong with the traffic noise and the couples fighting. The breeze and the smell of the dustbin lorry and the fishmonger.
That’s what makes it London. I love it.
I open my mind – I’m letting everything in. The love and the anger, the judgment and the compassion, the envy and the pity. That’s what makes me, “me”. I want to love myself, to be open to my own response to being open. To all of my many responses to all of my levels of open-ness.
