Cynthia Morris on Creating Space

8th August 2017

Taking time out helps you develop a relationship with yourself and gives you perspective.

“If I have any kind of secret to my success is that I build space and time into my days. [Earlier], I went and picked some tomatoes…there’s space and time for me to be with myself, to process things, to deepen my ideas, to feel good, to feel a little less frenetic. The biggest crisis that we’re facing right now is that we’re desperately packing our schedules with so much stuff. ‘I can do more, I can do it all, I can do all this stuff and if I can’t do it all, I’ll just do it faster!’ And you see successful people – people that I know and love and admire – who are super busy and super stressed. Taking a little bit of digital downtime or just a little bit of time with yourself – whatever that looks like – contributes a lot to having a relationship with yourself where you can make these decisions about what you consume or what you have in your life.”
